Bessemer is a city that is located in north central Alabama that lies in a corridor between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. This corridor has been recognized as the fourth best business development area in the nation. Bessemer is a city that is located centrally between these two cities.

Bessemer is situated in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain Range, less than 15 miles from downtown Birmingham. Major regional enterprises include a wide range of high-tech manufacturing concerns, and increasing number of service industries, higher education in the form of state universities and private colleges, and a growing convention industry.

VisionLand
The VisionLand theme park, which is located off of I-20/59 in Bessemer, is Alabama's only seasonal theme park featuring a number of rides, shops, and a water park. Visionland is also home to the world renouned Rampage roller coaster. VisionLand will open again this summer.
Watermark Place
One of Alabama's best factory outlets offers 200,000 sq. ft. of shopping space. The outlet features such stores as Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, OshKosh B'Gosh, Harry & David, Liz Claibornes, among others. The outlet is located off of I-20/59 next to VisionLand theme park.
Bessemer Civic Center
Bessemer's Civic Center is an impressive facility that can house a wide variety of events. The Civic Center is within an hours drive of 1.75 million people and is convineintly located near Exit 108 off I-20/59. The facility boosts a 13,000 sq. ft. convention hall and theater, and three other meeting rooms that range in size from 700 to 4,000 sq. ft.
Tannehill
The Tannehill Ironworks State Park is the birthplace of Birmingham's iron and steel industry. The park built around the ruins of the pre-Civil War ironworks to show an accurate depiction of life in mid-1800's Alabama. The park features hiking trails, horseback riding, and the Alabama Iron and Steel Museum. The park also features a cotton gin, pioneer farm, a working grist mill, and church and several gift shops. Trade days are held on the third weekend of each month.
